Transfer News

Amazing news hits Manchester United fans as Mason Greenwood finalizes a crucial decision regarding a potential Manchester United return as reports confirm ‘paperwork completed’ ahead of a significant transfer. This came out of nowhere 😳😳 This is definitely the best news we have had in a very long time😳❤️‍🩹

Mason Greenwood has reportedly completed the necessary steps to change his international allegiance from England to Jamaica.

The 23-year-old qualifies to play for Jamaica through his paternal grandparents. FIFA rules permit this switch because Greenwood only played in one competitive match for England—a Nations League game against Iceland in September 2020, where he came on as a second-half substitute under Gareth Southgate.

At the time, his appearance would have barred him from representing another national team. However, FIFA updated its eligibility rules shortly after, allowing players under 21 with fewer than four competitive appearances to switch allegiances. Greenwood’s mandatory three-year waiting period concluded in September 2023, and according to reports from the Daily Star, he has now officially chosen to represent Jamaica.

It is believed the Football Association informed Greenwood that he would no longer be considered for selection by England. His international career has unfolded against a backdrop of significant personal and professional challenges. In January 2022, Greenwood was suspended by Manchester United following allegations of rape. While he denied all charges, they were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

After spending a season on loan at Getafe, Greenwood made a permanent move to Marseille during the summer transfer window. Now, with his international switch confirmed, he appears to be turning a new page in his career.

Greenwood’s move to Jamaica also reunites him with the national team’s head coach, Steve McClaren, who previously worked with him as an assistant manager at Manchester United. McClaren revealed that he had discussions with Greenwood before their departures from the club, which may have influenced this decision.

This shift marks a significant chapter in Greenwood’s career. With the revised FIFA rules enabling the change, his choice to represent Jamaica offers a fresh start and an opportunity to rebuild his reputation. For Jamaica, Greenwood’s addition bolsters their attacking lineup, providing a valuable asset for upcoming regional and global competitions.

This move represents not only Greenwood’s return to international football but also his attempt to reshape his legacy and find success on

a new stage.
