Marcus Rashford is set to seal Aston Villa loan transfer with £40m buy option – but Man Utd will pay star £81,000-a-week MARCUS RASHFORD was last night set to sign a loan deal with Aston Villa.

Marcus Rashford is on the brink of securing a loan move to Aston Villa before the transfer window closes, despite previously stating he would never play for another Premier League club. The deal includes an option for Villa to sign him permanently for approximately £40 million at the end of the season. During the loan spell, Manchester United will cover 25% of Rashford’s £325,000-a-week salary, ensuring he maintains his current wages.

The decision to leave United follows a breakdown in his relationship with manager Ruben Amorim. Rashford reportedly began considering a move earlier in the season, hoping for interest from major European clubs. However, with limited offers, Villa emerged as a serious contender after initially showing interest in November. Amorim made it clear that Rashford had no future at Old Trafford, prompting the forward to seek new opportunities.

Villa’s ability to offer Champions League football and maintain his wages played a crucial role in Rashford’s decision. Manager Unai Emery has been active in the transfer market, particularly after selling striker Jhon Duran to Al Nassr for £70 million. Emery confirmed that Villa is looking to strengthen the squad ahead of their Champions League last-16 clash.

Meanwhile, new England manager Thomas Tuchel has provided Rashford with hope of reclaiming his spot in the national team. Rashford, who has earned 60 caps, was left out of the Euro 2024 squad by former boss Gareth Southgate. Tuchel has reportedly assured Rashford that consistent playing time at Villa could see him reintegrated into the squad.

The rift between Rashford and Amorim escalated following a disciplinary issue after a 4-0 win against Everton. Amorim accused Rashford of breaking team rules by going out, which Rashford denied, demanding proof of the alleged breach. The disagreement created an irreparable divide, leading to his omission from the squad in the Manchester derby two weeks later. Shortly after, Rashford publicly declared his desire for a “new challenge.”

In a recent interview, Rashford expressed his gratitude to Manchester United while emphasizing his readiness for the next phase of his career. He reassured fans that his departure would be amicable, avoiding any negativity toward the club. As he prepares for his medical, his focus is now on securing playing time and reigniting his career at Ast

on Villa.
