I don’t like to talk about Manchester United but i must say this, the way Manchester United is treating my country man is not right”- Former PSG Star Neymer Jr reveals his £70m countryman is very angry and frustrated with Erig Ten Hag
The winger for Manchester United, Antony, feels that he is improving and has assured supporters that he will keep working on every element of his game.
After months of arduous talks, Erik ten Hag finally succeeded in his goal of signing Antony during his first summer in command, with Ajax agreeing to an £86 million deal.
In his first three Premier League games, Antony scored goals against Arsenal, Manchester City, and Everton. However, he only scored one more goal in the league that season. The winger finished the season with eight goals and three assists across all competitions, but despite expectations that he would step up in his sophomore year, he hasn’t impressed.
While many people believe that Antony was a bad acquisition, his recent performances have shown promise, and he had a great performance against Chelsea. Even though United fell short at Stamford Bridge 4–3, Antony believes that night might be a turning moment in his career. This week, he spoke with club media about his form.
Antony told MUTV, “I’m incredibly delighted with my form, I’ve worked very hard every day towards this.” “I’m happy with my results because I’ve been practicing hard for months, and I want to become better every time I play. I’ve worked on it since I know there is a lot I can do better. I’m pleased with how well I’m doing each game.”
When questioned about his performance vs Chelsea, Antony specifically brought up his assist on Alejandro Garnacho’s second goal. “There will undoubtedly be plenty of these occasions. As I said, hard effort has helped me regain my confidence,” he remarked.
“Even though I’ve experienced a lot, there have been some very trying times for me. I’m making a change today, as I have been for some time.
“It is crucial that I keep working no matter what. I was thrilled to see Garnacho get an assist, and I think great things are coming.
Half of Antony’s season total—two goals and two assists—came against League One underdogs Newport County during the FA Cup’s fourth round.
Ten Hag stated of Antony’s performance against Chelsea: “I know he is capable of it. We haven’t seen it after this [at United], but I saw it a lot when I was manager at Ajax.
“Perhaps in the beginning; in the first three games, we saw glimmers of him scoring three goals. However, after that, interestingly, he scored the game-winning goal against Barcelona the previous season. But he’s up to the task. I got to see the Antony I wanted to see on Thursday night.”
