Johan Bakayoko to Liverpool Is done deal 😲😱 He could be ‘on his way’ to Anfield. 😳 This is the amount to pay..! What a signing he’d be 😱 is he a good replacement for Mohamed Salah
Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Johan Bakayoko as a possible acquisition for the upcoming summer transfer window.
According to Belgian football insider Sacha Tavolieri, who shared the news on X (formerly known as Twitter), Liverpool’s interest in the PSV Eindhoven star has been ongoing since March 2023.
The 21-year-old winger has caught the attention of both the incoming manager Arne Slot and the chief scout Barry Hunter due to his impressive performances.
Bakayoko has had an outstanding season in the Dutch Eredivisie, tallying 28 goals across 48 matches in all competitions.
Primarily playing on the right wing, Bakayoko’s style of play, which involves frequently cutting into the penalty area, is reminiscent of Mo Salah’s approach.
With Salah anticipated to remain at Anfield for at least another season, Bakayoko is viewed as a potential long-term successor. His potential arrival could align with the end of Salah’s current contract in 2025, or if it is extended, prepare him for a future leading role.
Given his young age, Bakayoko might be persuaded to join Liverpool with the prospect of becoming the main choice on the right flank in the coming years.
