Chelsea Manager Mouricio Pochettino has been sacked in shocking scene this morning by the Management after fans demands his dismissal
Marc Cucurella claims that Mauricio Pochettino has the backing of his Chelsea players, despite the fact that there is doubt around his future moving into the summer.
Pochettino is under a lot of strain as the culmination of his first season as the manager of the Blues draws closer and closer. Despite winning only 13 of their 33 matches, Chelsea is now in ninth place in the Premier League, 19 points behind the top four teams.
Since Todd Boehly’s consortium assumed control of the squad a little more than two years ago, the organization has spent more than one billion pounds on players, but they are not playing up to their potential. In the summer, after the 5-0 thrashing by Arsenal and the 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final, the hierarchy was claimed to be “seriously contemplating” firing Pochettino. This was in response to the fact that Arsenal had beaten Tottenham by a score of 5-0.
Despite the fact that things looked to be getting worse for Pochettino when his team fell behind Aston Villa by a score of 2-0 on Saturday, they managed to come back and draw 2-2. They would have won the game if the video assistant referee had not controversially disallowed Axel Disasi’s late goal. As a result of Cucurella’s belief that Pochettino is leading Chelsea in the correct direction, he is deserving of further time.
When asked if the comeback against Villa in the second half demonstrated that the players want Pochettino to remain in his position, he responded to the Evening Standard by saying, “Yes, without a doubt.” During the halftime break, he delivered an excellent speech, and everyone noticed the reaction of the squad. A significant number of the games that we play, in which we do not win, are a part of the game itself; nevertheless, I believe that the problem lies more in the fact that we have the quality, and perhaps we do not demonstrate what we are capable of doing.
“I don’t believe the manager has any options when we lose by a score of 5-0. In my opinion, the players and our mentality are the most important factors to consider. He has been of great assistance to us, he is able to communicate well, and the others on the team are behind him. Things are going well for us at the moment. In order for us to be successful, everyone of us must strive to grow, maintain the same level of performance, and have the same mentality throughout each and every minute. Staying together will allow us to do a lot of things.
Despite the fact that Pochettino stated that his team had “given up” in the second part of their match against Arsenal, the performance versus Villa was encouraging. Not only did Noni Madueke and Conor Gallagher score goals of exceptional quality, but Disasi’s stunning header was disallowed because Benoit Badashile was deemed to have pushed him within the penalty area.

When Pochettino joined Chelsea at the beginning of the season, he signed a contract that was for two years and included an option for an additional year with the club. However, the fact that his predecessor Graham Potter was fired less than seven months into a five-year contract demonstrates that Stamford Bridge is only looking about the short term.
