Former Chelsea and England captain John Terry has slammed the BBC over their on-air joke about Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty miss at Euro 2024
John Terry, a former captain of Chelsea and England, has blasted the BBC for making light of Cristiano Ronaldo’s missed penalty at the 2024 European Championship.
Ronaldo broke down in tears as Jan Oblak stopped his penalty kick in the first half of extra time during Monday night’s Portugal vs. Slovenia semifinal match.
During the halftime huddle, the 39-year-old was sobbing with his Portugal teammates. Diogo Dalot comforted him as he returned to the field for the second half of extra time.
The BBC titled the incident “Missiano Penaldo” during their analysis of Ronaldo’s missed penalty.
Terry was displeased with the choice and called the caption a “disgrace.”
The remark said, “BBC this is a disgrace!” and the former captain of Chelsea and England shared a picture of it on his Instagram account.
