Last Minute Bid Confirmed: Liverpool have completed a shock new signing of world class player out of nowhere last night Nobody expected this signing after the closure of the transfer window. 👀 Medical already completed this morning, nobody saw this coming 🤯
On Wednesday evening, Fabrizio Romano used social media to confirm the completion of a long-anticipated transfer for Liverpool.
Two months after first revealing that the Reds had reached an agreement to sign promising Chelsea youngster Rio Ngumoha, it seems the deal has now been sealed.
Romano posted on X: “Liverpool finalize Premier League’s 5-step investigation process for Rio Ngumoha to join the club, confirmed.
The 2008-born player agreed to the move after departing Chelsea, as first reported in June. Done and dusted.”
The transfer process was lengthy due to the extensive formalities required by the Premier League’s registration system, but Liverpool has finally secured the young talent.
Ngumoha, only 16 years old, is already being recognized as a significant acquisition. Journalist Bence Bocsak called it a “major coup,” while The Athletic’s James Pearce commended the teenager’s potential.
The young star will start his career in Liverpool’s academy, but with recent examples like Trey Nyoni, Jayden Danns, and Conor Bradley progressing to the first team after performing well at the youth level, Ngumoha has a clear route to senior football.
With the transfer now complete, Liverpool fans will be keen to watch Ngumoha’s development and hope to see him break into the first team soon.
The teenager has already earned high praise, and his switch from Chelsea could prove to be one of Liverpool’s most astute decisions in recent memory.
