The 17-year-old is tipped to be Europe’s next big talent, and he’s finally had his say amid heavy interest from both Arsenal and Man Utd 👀 He’s spoilt for choice, but only one club can secure his signature…

Manchester United has reportedly sent scouts to monitor a player described as “one of the best young prospects in world football,” who has since reacted to the club’s interest.

This summer, Manchester United shifted its transfer strategy to focus on younger talent following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s acquisition of a minority stake in the club.

Among the new additions, 18-year-old Leny Yoro was signed from Lille for £50 million. However, he has not yet made his debut due to a metatarsal injury. On deadline day, the club also secured 18-year-old midfielder Sekou Kone from the Malian side Guidars. Now, United is rumored to be targeting another rising star.

As reported by Norwegian outlet TV 2 Sporten, United’s scouts attended Rosenborg’s match against Lillestrom on Monday, with particular attention on 17-year-old midfielder Sverre Halseth Nypan, who started the game.

Nypan, who had previously been linked with interest from Arsenal, addressed the rumors of Manchester United’s pursuit of him ahead of a possible January transfer. He stated, as quoted by MUnitedFR: “I didn’t know about it, so I don’t really think about it. It will always be like that, so I don’t think about it. I have to learn to handle it, and I think I have.”

United’s interest in Nypan reportedly emerged during their pre-season, after witnessing his talent in action. In their first friendly, United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Rosenborg, who were in mid-season form thanks to their ongoing domestic campaign.

With several United players away on international duty for Euro 2024 and Copa America, Nypan is said to have impressed onlookers. So far in the 2024 Eliteserien season, he has provided six assists and scored five goals, including a memorable hat-trick in Rosenborg’s 4-0 triumph over Lillestrom last month.
