He is not happy and has pointed out one thing he’s noticed that will be extremely worrying to hear for fans 😳
Christian Eriksen gave a candid post-match interview following Manchester United’s draw against FC Twente, where Sam Lammers’ equalizer nullified Eriksen’s first-half goal.
Manchester United left Old Trafford with just one point from the Europa League match, and manager Erik ten Hag came under fire for making ill-timed substitutions.
After the match, Eriksen voiced his frustration, saying, “As a team, we’re mainly disappointed. In the end, it wasn’t good enough. They seemed to want it more than us, and that’s not acceptable.”
He went on, “When I scored, I thought it would be the match-winner, but that wasn’t the case. Everyone is reflecting on their performance. As professionals, we know this shouldn’t happen. Even though we didn’t lose, it feels like we did, especially at home.”
It was a tough night for Ten Hag’s squad. Eriksen gave United the lead in the 35th minute, and while Marcus Rashford had some impressive moments, FC Twente equalized in the 68th minute following an error from Eriksen.
Ten Hag commented, “We kept them in the game at 1-0 while maintaining control. You have to stay consistent, and we dropped our level in the second half, allowing the goal.”
He added, “We needed a second goal to kill the game, but we let them back in through our own mistake.”
The manager’s substitutions were heavily criticized, with former AC Milan player Ruud Gullit pointing out, “I saw Erik ten Hag constantly talking to Alejandro Garnacho. In those moments, players just need to focus.”
Gullit finished by saying, “I’m not surprised by Manchester United’s performance tonight. It’s become expected. How many millions has Ten Hag spent on this team again?”
