Ange Postecoglou’s side started off strongly at Old Trafford, with Van de Ven embarking on an astonishing 60-yard run that dismantled United’s defense. His precise pass found Brennan Johnson, who finished from close range, giving Spurs an early lead. Despite the goal, it was Van de Ven’s remarkable effort that stole the spotlight.
Gary Neville, commentating for Sky Sports, called it “absolutely brilliant,” adding, “It’s one of the best runs I’ve ever seen from a center-back.”
Van de Ven’s performance earned widespread praise, and he now tops the list of Spurs players for Premier League assists this season.
