Huge news has been announced this evening on Antony’s departure from Manchester United Absolitely massive news, asking price has been revealed 😳

Manchester United are reportedly considering loaning out Brazilian winger Antony during the January transfer window, with the option of a permanent move in the summer. The 24-year-old, who was signed for a massive fee of up to £86 million, has struggled to make a strong impression since his arrival at Old Trafford and has fallen down the pecking order under manager Erik ten Hag.

Antony was signed with high expectations, especially since he had previously worked with Ten Hag at Ajax. Although the decision to bring him to Manchester wasn’t solely Ten Hag’s, the club ultimately agreed to a deal with Ajax, including £82 million in guaranteed payments. This made Antony the club’s second-most expensive player ever, despite earlier valuations of around £25 million when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge. At one point, United had suggested they wouldn’t pay more than £60 million for the winger.

However, Antony has been unable to live up to his high price tag and is currently competing with players like Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Amad Diallo for a spot in the team. The departures of Jadon Sancho, Omari Forson, and Facundo Pellistri have done little to improve his playing time. So far this season, Antony has only clocked 139 minutes across all competitions, with his sole start being in a Carabao Cup match against Barnsley.

According to reports from The Daily Mail, United are now looking at their options and are open to a loan move in January. They hope this could eventually lead to a permanent transfer in the summer, although they are unlikely to recoup their initial investment. The club would reportedly entertain offers around £40 million to facilitate Antony’s departure.

Antony initially showed promise at United, scoring in three consecutive Premier League games, including against Arsenal and Manchester City, shortly after joining. But his form quickly dipped, and his contributions became inconsistent. One of his rare standout moments came when he netted the winning goal in a Europa League match against Barcelona in February 2023. His most notable performance in a United shirt last season was in an FA Cup tie against League Two side Newport County.

Off-field issues have also added to Antony’s difficulties. Last season, he faced accusations of domestic violence from multiple women, which he has consistently denied. These controversies have further complicated his efforts to establish himself as a key player for the club.

Given his struggles on and off the field, it’s not surprising that Manchester United are considering moving him on. A loan move in January could give Antony the chance to regain form and attract interest from other clubs. However, his market value has dropped significantly, and United may have to accept a financial loss if they decide to sell him permanently.

As it stands, Antony’s future at Manchester United is uncertain, and a fresh start elsewhere might be the best option for both him and the club. With the January transfer window approaching, United will want to resolve the situation and focus on strengthening the squad for the second half of the season. Whether Antony can revive his career at a new club or return to make an impact at Old Trafford remain

s to be seen.
