Jack Grealish sent an incredible warning to Pep Guardiola after Pep Said Jeremy Doku is better than him

Man City received a warning from Jack Grealish following Pep Guardiola’s “astonishing” admission.
Although Jack Grealish remains the most expensive player in Manchester City history, Pep Guardiola has given him a warning about his position in the team as he looks to build on the treble he won the previous year.

With the arrival of Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish has been cautioned that he must work “harder” to maintain his spot at Manchester City.

The England player was essential to Pep Guardiola’s team’s treble-winning campaign last year. He made 50 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions, contributing 11 assists and five goals.

But this summer, his position at the Etihad has been called into question. After spending £55 million to acquire Belgian wide player Doku from Rennes, City has seen him have a successful debut season. In the 3-1 comeback victory over West Ham at the London Stadium over the weekend, he scored his first goal for City. Doku also had a spectacular performance in the Champions League match against Crvena Zvezda.

Bacary Sagna, a former Man City defender, thinks Grealish may have a difficult time earning a spot back in the starting lineup. “There is going to be really good competition on the left flank for Manchester City; this is what Pep [Guardiola] is looking for,” he remarked in an interview with Paddy Power.

It’s always a challenge to push a player beyond of his comfort zone, and we must accept Jack Grealish for who he is as a player and the role he played in City’s treble-winning campaign. He was and still is an incredible player.

“A player should never be content to stay in their comfort zone; they must always put in a lot of effort. Grealish will have to put in even more effort and strive to be decisive when he gets the opportunity to play because [Jeremy] Doku is already having a significant influence on the squad.

I’ve known Doku for years because I’m a big fan of the player and I watch Stade Rennais a lot. He is one of the best players I’ve seen one-on-one, and I enjoy his straight style, quickness, and power. He and Allan Saint-Maximin share similar traits in that they are both inventive, forceful, unpredictable, and always seem to be changing their course. These qualities make them challenging players to mark and play against.

He is a real winger—a player we don’t see much of these days—direct and eager to attack, and he will make a big contribution to the left flank. The fact that Grealish and Doku have that much competition is excellent for Manchester City, but since only one will play, I’m sure they will contribute even more, which is really encouraging.

Apart from Sagna’s compliments, Guardiola, the manager of City, has previously praised his summer acquisition. He acknowledged that the Belgian had been “incredible” and that he was “very pleased” with his start to life at the Etihad after the victory over West Ham.
