I gave him important instructions to avoid more goal and he didn’t adhere to I told him. He was busy confusing his teammates. He is the only one to blame”-Erik Ten hag has admitted flop Player is to blame for Manchester United’s Terrible loss today against Manchester City

With Aston Villa now leading them by 11 points in fourth place, Manchester United’s recent Premier League woes continued as they lost for the second time in a row, virtually ending their hopes of finishing in the top four.

Marcus Rashford’s incredible early strike gave United the advantage, which they were able to hold onto until halftime thanks to manager Erik ten Hag’s tactical adjustments.

But barely ten minutes into the second half, the hosts swiftly equalised, putting United under increasing pressure. As a result, their lead proved fleeting. In the end, they let in goals from Phil Foden late in the game and Erling Haaland soon after.

While there were differences in the performances of the players, Andre Onana, the custodian, was one of United’s best players. He contributed significantly to their first goal and made several key saves during the match.

Diogo Dalot also gave an excellent effort for the majority of the game, albeit his play soured towards the conclusion.

Raphael Varane put on a strong defensive performance, but it wasn’t enough to stop City from scoring.

On the other hand, Victor Lindelof found it difficult to play left-back, and Casemiro’s performance was merely mediocre in comparison to his prior games.

While Scott McTominay’s advanced midfield role helped stabilise United’s midfield, albeit at the sacrifice of their attacking threat, Kobbie Mainoo showed promise and versatility.

Due to United’s inability to hold onto possession, Bruno Fernandes was unable to make his customary impact, while Alejandro Garnacho stayed comparatively quiet for the whole of the match.

Although Rashford’s first goal was a highlight, his performance was considered adequate overall, despite having little effect after the early goal.
