Manuel Ugarte’s transfer to Manchester United is almost finalized, with the club set to agree on a fee with PSG for the midfielder. According to journalist Diego Munoz, the former Sporting CP player is anticipated to leave the French champions this summer and is “on the verge” of joining Old Trafford.

Uruguayan journalist Munoz reported that PSG’s Spanish manager, Luis Enrique, has advised Ugarte to find a new club, and Manchester United is ready to meet the financial demands to secure his signing.

Munoz stated:

“He is near a move to United. Ugarte won’t remain at PSG. Luis Enrique has already informed him he isn’t part of the plans.”

“He also felt uneasy with the team, creating opportunities. PSG wants to offload Ugarte to recover part of their investment in the Uruguayan player, and Manchester United is prepared to pay, making them his most probable next team.”

Last summer, PSG paid 60 million euros to sign Ugarte from Sporting CP and are now seeking a similar fee of around £50 million to let him go.

Munoz also highlighted that Manchester United faces minimal competition for Ugarte. Atletico Madrid is “highly interested” in him, but PSG favors a sale, while Atletico can only offer a loan deal. Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are also interested but propose terms similar to Atletico, which PSG will not accept. Thus, Ugarte is “close to United.”
