Manchester United have initiated discussions with Leny Yoro’s representatives as they monitor Real Madrid’s progress in securing the player, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Following Raphael Varane’s departure and the fitness issues of Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez, Manchester United is seeking to bolster their defense this summer. Victor Lindelof’s future at the club is also uncertain.

Erik ten Hag is tasked with improving United’s league performance next season after the team finished eighth last term. Despite winning the FA Cup in May, the season was largely seen as underwhelming for the 20-time league champions.

### United’s Pursuit of Yoro Amid Real Madrid’s Interest

The future of Leny Yoro may be determined soon, with Fabrizio Romano highlighting the situation as one to watch in the coming days. Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Romano noted that while Real Madrid is currently leading the chase, other clubs are closely following the developments.

Manchester United, alongside Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool, are interested in the 18-year-old central defender, who is regarded as a generational talent. According to the Daily Mail, Yoro is currently fifth on their list of targets, with INEOS also pursuing Matthijs de Ligt, Jarrad Branthwaite, Joshua Zirkzee, and Manuel Ugarte.

The Red Devils maintain close contact with Yoro’s representatives, prepared to act if Real Madrid cannot finalize a deal with Lille. Reports from Spain indicate that Lille is asking for €40 million (£34 million) for Yoro.

Romano stated:

“Yoro will be a key topic in the coming days. Three clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain, are waiting to see the outcome of Real Madrid’s negotiations with Lille. All of them are in contact with Yoro’s camp, ready to move if Real Madrid’s talks with Lille stall. It’s important to note that Real Madrid is in direct discussions with Lille and will soon decide on their bid and negotiation strategy.”
