Good news for Liverpool as former England FLOP manager Garath Southgate is set to become Manchester city manager if Pep Guardiola leaves this summer according to top reporters. 🚨🚨 Exclusive – It’s down to the Manchester City boss 👀 Liverpool is going to be the new Premier League winners now

Former England international Jermaine Jenas thinks the Football Association (FA) has valid reasons to be optimistic about the prospect of hiring Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola.

Gareth Southgate’s resignation as the manager of the England national team, following four major tournament campaigns and two consecutive losses in European Championship finals, leaves the FA with a difficult choice regarding his successor.

Rumors suggest that Guardiola is on the FA’s list of potential candidates, and they are even prepared to wait until his contract with Manchester City ends in 2025.

Guardiola has previously indicated an interest in managing a national team at some point, though his history with Spain makes it doubtful that he would manage them.

Jenas, 41, believes England is one of the few countries that could appeal to Guardiola. “Given Pep’s Catalan background, he’s a natural fit. I don’t see him managing Spain,” Jenas told Mirror Football before last weekend’s Formula E Grand Prix.

“Pep will manage a national team eventually. It’s just a matter of whether it will be Brazil, Portugal, England, or Germany. He’ll do it at some point.”

Jenas thinks England needs a manager who favors an attacking style of play, suggesting Newcastle’s Eddie Howe and free agent Graham Potter as potential candidates.
