“He does not play Chelsea pattern of Football and Mouricio Pochettino keeps playing regardless of his silly mistakes that costs us the FA cup yesterday-Lampard criticises Chelsea star for not being ‘at the level’ after FA Cup defea

Following Nicolas Jackson’s performance in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final loss to Manchester City, Frank Lampard said that Jackson was not on the same level as Chelsea.

The fact that Mauricio Pochettino’s team missed out on the championship game the following month, after missing many opportunities to lead City at Wembley, will have them questioning their heads.

Jackson squandered three easy chances for Chelsea, including a second-half header from close range that he sent directly at City goalie Stefan Ortega.

Alan Shearer described Jackson’s performance as “a poor day at the office” during the BBC’s post-match commentary.

Chelsea’s season has followed a similar pattern. Prior to the match, Poch expressed his belief that the team should be in or around fourth place in the Premier League, but he specifically mentioned the xG as the reason for this.
“Jackson had three fantastic opportunities, including two one-on-ones, but he never seemed to be at ease. He made the incorrect choice and executed some very ingenious runs.

“They truly are complete sitters,” I said. He had three excellent opportunities, but he just never let the ball leave his foot.

While Lampard felt sorry for Jackson, he believes the 22-year-old did not play to the caliber Chelsea needs from their star striker.

“I feel a little sorry for him because he’s a young striker and he made a lot of good movements today, racing Kyle Walker. He showed good movement and pace, but there’s a technical detail, the extra touch, and the decision making at the highest level that makes the difference in these kinds of games,” Lampard remarked.

“If you strike the header anyplace other than his body, it’s a goal.” It’s a crucial decision for the game, and I feel bad for him because we’ve all been there and squandered opportunities like that.

“But to be a striker for Chelsea, you have to be at that level as a young youngster.”
