Manchester United Manager Erig Ten Hag has been sacked this evening by Sir Jim Ratcliffe after taking over Manchester Unuted for just Two weeks
Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, should be fired, according to former Premier League striker Gabby Agbonlahor, who is now a talkSPORT ABU (anyone but United) spokesman.
When former pros start making demands of players, that’s dangerous territory. Because they can analyse the game more thoroughly, you rarely hear the finest pundits do this.
In the week preceding United’s 2-1 loss to Fulham, Agbonlahor made yet another jab at United supporters, accusing them of “living in the past” and of being the worst group of supporters in terms of mistreatment.
United have not lost a game in 2024 entering Saturday’s match. Although the performance was appalling, it seems excessive to demand for Ten Hag’s dismissal over the radio after the team’s defeat to Fulham.
United’s chances of placing in the top four were severely damaged by the outcome, as Aston Villa defeated Nottingham Forest 4-2 over the weekend. In fourth place, Unai Emery’s team is currently eight points ahead of the Reds.
TalkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara interviewed Agbonlahor, who stated: “Today was justice.”
“United has been winning games despite subpar performances, but today they received exactly what they deserved.”
“The Manchester United team today was a disgrace to that league.”
If Ten Hag had his top players available this season, how deluded would he look? Agbonlahor will, of course, ignore that in order to further his own agenda and see a man fired.
Ten Hag is undoubtedly under a lot of pressure to move United into the top four.
There’s also a chance they’ll consider changing managers in light of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment and the club’s organisational reforms.
Wednesday night marks United’s return to action as they play Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round.
