Major Premier League clubs could potentially be barred from participating in the Champions League for the upcoming season
Why It’s Likely Man United Won’t Be Permitted to Participate in Europe Next Year
The 71-year-old entrepreneur Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s acquisition of the team was confirmed by the club in a statement in December, capping months of speculation.
Ratcliffe and his INEOS Group bought a 27.7% share in the club after spending nearly £1 billion; after another £238 million is paid, that percentage will be about 30%.
Furthermore, Nice is owned by the INEOS firm. A French football team headed for Europe is Nice, who are currently in fifth position in Ligue 1.
Notwithstanding changes to its regulations, UEFA has now officially declared that teams owned by the same organisation are not permitted to participate in the same competition.
When questioned, a UEFA insider gave SunSport confirmation of the information.
“It is true that Nice and Manchester United are unable to compete in the same league.
Since there is no longer any “feeding” between tournaments, they could participate in separate ones.
