Axel Tuanzebe chooses the DR Congo over England
Due to his decision, the former Manchester United defender has more options going forward. He can now represent DR Congo in the 2025 African Cup of Nations and 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

When Tuanzebe realised that playing for England was no longer an option, he decided to join the national team of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

He was involved with England’s young teams in the past, but he is now focused on contributing to his new national team.

Under manager Sebastien Desabre, he will now play.
