England and Chelsea Star will miss Euro 2024 after devastating news has been confirmed this morning

The Athletic reports that Sam Johnstone, England’s backup custodian, will miss Euro 2024 as a result of surgery on Wednesday morning.

Head coach Gareth Southgate is taken aback by the news that Crystal Palace’s goalie is England’s first injury casualty of the campaign.

Johnstone would have accompanied Jordan Pickford to the competition.

Due to his excellent season-long play for the Selhurst Park club, he is almost set to be included in Southgate’s final Germany squad this summer.

England is dealing with several injuries.
Harry Maguire, Kyle Walker, and Johnstone withdrew from Tuesday’s friendly match against Belgium, marking their departure from the England camp on Sunday.

The goalie, who was supposed to start the game against Belgium, unintentionally injured his elbow during an England workout on Sunday.

He will therefore miss the rest of the season. The 31-year-old ran into the problem while trying to save a shot.
