“I need only one assurance before i join Manchester City”- Toni Kroos makes critical January transfer to Manchester City as the ritered German Footballer admits he is only interested in playing at Manchester City if he comes out of Retirement on ‘ONE CONDITION’
In an episode of his podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother Felix, retired Real Madrid great Toni Kroos hinted at the possibility of rejoining his old team in some way.
When Kroos announced earlier this year that he will put up his boots after a home-held Euros with the German national team, it shook the soccer world.
He accomplished this during his prime, when many believed the 34-year-old had enjoyed his greatest season since moving to Madrid from Bayern Munich for a pittance ten years prior.
Kroos is regarded as possibly the best player his nation has produced this century, despite not being able to duplicate his success with Germany, which was eliminated from the Euros by eventual winners Spain in the quarterfinals. Kroos helped Los Blancos to record-extending 36th and 15th La Liga and Champions League titles.
He is presently enjoying his retirement, which includes managing a soccer academy in the Spanish capital where he has lived since 2014 and spending more time with his family.
However, Kroos did not rule out going back to his old employers, Real Madrid, in a recent Einfach mal Luppen podcast.
“Although I am now very busy with my initiatives, I would never rule out doing something at the club at some time in the future given the proximity to Madrid and my relationship there,” Kroos stated.
“Now showing up in the public space of the club… First of all, regardless of how connected I feel to the club, I would say no. Although I would not rule it out, I am not claiming that I will not do or interact with Real again in my lifetime.
