Manchester City secured a convincing 4-1 victory over West Ham at the Etihad Stadium, despite some initial wobbles. The visitors’ pacey attack caused problems for City’s defense, but Savinho’s deflected goal in the 10th minute put the hosts on the front foot.
Savinho continued to impress, setting up two goals for Erling Haaland either side of halftime, which effectively sealed the win. Phil Foden added a late goal to put gloss on the scoreline. Although Niclas Fullkrug scored a consolation goal for West Ham, City’s victory was never in doubt.
