It has been confirmed that the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has reverted back the Red Card after Real Madrid Apeal vs Valencia and the team was awarded three points for their performance
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed his disagreement with the red card given to Vinícius Jr during their match against Valencia. In the post-match press conference, Ancelotti stated that the incident should have resulted in two yellow cards instead, one for Vinícius Jr and the other for Valencia goalkeeper Dimitrievski.
“We believe it wasn’t a red card offense,” Ancelotti said. “It should have been two yellows. Dimitrievski initiated contact, followed by Vinícius Jr’s reaction. We’ll appeal the decision.”
Ancelotti also commended his team’s resilience in overcoming adversity, including Vinícius Jr’s dismissal, a missed penalty, and a disallowed goal. “It’s difficult to explain our poor performance in the first half and our excellent reaction in the second half, even with 10 players. We can’t afford to show these two different faces.”
Regarding the victory, Ancelotti described it as “fair and deserved,” highlighting the team’s improved performance after halftime. “The first half was very poor, lacking balance. Valencia started stronger.”
The manager also addressed the issue of missed penalties, which has become a recurring problem for the team. “We’ve missed three penalties this season, and I take responsibility for deciding who takes the penalties in the future.”
Ancelotti explained that Jude Bellingham’s missed penalty wasn’t retaken because Dimitrievski didn’t make contact with the ball, despite having both feet off the line.
