“Liverpool be sacred we are coming” De Bruyne Says What?! Liverpool’s Title Chances in Doubt 😱 Wow, Kevin De Bruyne didn’t hold back after Man City’s 6-0 thrashing of Ipswich Town! He just made a huge statement about Liverpool and their hopes of winning the league—and it’s got everyone talking. Could this really be the end of Liverpool’s title dreams? De Bruyne’s words have set the Premier League buzzing, and you won’t believe what he said
Manchester City’s Croatian midfielder, Mateo Kovacic, celebrated with English midfielder Phil Foden after scoring their second goal during a 6-0 victory over Ipswich Town on January 19, 2025, in the Premier League. The match took place at Portman Road in Ipswich, eastern England.
Kevin De Bruyne, a key player for Manchester City, has emphasized that the team is not currently fixated on Liverpool or the Premier League title race. However, he has not entirely dismissed the possibility of a comeback for the defending champions.
With City sitting in fourth place, they are 12 points behind Liverpool, who still have a game in hand. Despite the gap, City has been in strong form recently, winning five consecutive league matches following a difficult stretch from late October to Boxing Day. During that period, they managed only one victory and lost nine out of 13 games across all competitions.
This season, City has already lost six league matches and drawn five, dropping a total of 28 points. In comparison, they lost only 33 points in the entire 2019/20 season, finishing second to Liverpool.
City still has a theoretical maximum of 86 points to chase, but a flawless remainder of the season and a major collapse from Liverpool would be required to challenge for the title.
After the win over Ipswich, De Bruyne reflected on the team’s situation, stating, “We don’t need to focus on Liverpool right now. We must improve, secure more wins, and look ahead to our important match in Paris. We’re aware of the points we’ve dropped, and our focus is on winning as many games as possible.”
With the margin for error growing ever smaller, City’s challenge to remain in the title race appears increasingly
difficult.
