“I have said this multiple times but this is the final straw. The game was stolen from us in broad daylight. This isn’t football anymore, it’s a script” – The Chelsea manager has launched a sensational “foul play” accusation against the officials following Arsenal controversial win. He claims the red card and Hamd Ball overturn were “manufactured” to ensure a Arsenal victory

Liam Rosenior openly criticised Chelsea’s recurring issues after their defeat to Arsenal, expressing frustration during his post-match interview with Sky Sports. Despite a strong overall display at Emirates Stadium, Chelsea were punished by Arsenal’s effectiveness from set-pieces.

William Saliba opened the scoring with a close-range header to give Arsenal the advantage. Chelsea managed to level the match just before half-time when Piero Hincapie accidentally turned the ball into his own net.

Chelsea started the second half strongly and looked in control, but Arsenal regained the lead when Jurrien Timber headed in a corner delivered by Declan Rice, with goalkeeper Robert Sanchez caught out of position. The situation worsened for Chelsea when Pedro Neto was sent off after receiving two quick yellow cards, marking the club’s ninth red card of the season.

Rosenior admitted the defeat reflected a familiar pattern, pointing out his team’s inability to defend set-pieces and maintain discipline. He stressed that while Chelsea have shown positive moments, their failure to be clinical and organised in key situations continues to cost them points.

He acknowledged Arsenal’s strength from dead-ball situations but insisted his side must improve defensively. Rosenior also noted that responsibility lies across the team, including defensive organisation and goalkeeping, and confirmed these issues would be addressed in training ahead of their upcoming match against Aston Villa.

  • The coach added that recent disappointing results against Leeds United and Burnley should have motivated improvement, but Chelsea’s persistent set-piece vulnerabilities remain a major concern.
