Former Roma and Manchester United Boss Jose Mourinho is set to Sign Manchester United Star after he was announced new manager of Fenerbahce
According to rumors, Victor Lindelof may not be the only Manchester United player Jose Mourinho brings to Fenerbahce this summer.
Reunion talks are being considered involving Sweden defender Lindelof, who joined United during Mourinho’s tenure. According to reports, Erik ten Hag, who had a lot of injuries last season and only sometimes utilized the center-back, has given his approval to the move.
Fener, who placed second in the Super Liga the previous season, is reportedly keeping an eye on Casemiro. The Brazilian had a challenging second season at Old Trafford and is said to be leaving in the summer.
In the past, Mourinho has advocated for reunions with his former players, bringing Nemanja Matic to Roma during his tenure there. He knew the Brazilian from their brief time together at Real Madrid, even if he didn’t manage Casemiro at Old Trafford.
When Mourinho was leaving the Bernabeu for good, Casemiro came on a first-season loan to Madrid. Though he played a larger role under following managers, he made his debut under the Portuguese.
Sporx reports that Mario Branco, the sporting director of Fenerbahce, has started evaluating whether or not Casemiro would be too expensive for the Turkish team. The Brazil international paid £60 million to join United, but it’s unlikely he’ll be able to recoup that amount when he goes.
Being among the most paid players in the Premier League, let alone at Old Trafford, Casemiro’s summer departure might allow United to reallocate finances to enhance other parts of the team. The Saudi Pro League has reportedly expressed interest as well, following the previous 18 months’ comparable actions for former United teammates Alex Telles and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Midway through the season, United activated a one-year contract extension for Lindelof. He still has the option to leave, though, since his contract expires in the summer of 2025.
