Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali was spotted running away from angry fans following Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to Aston Villa
Following Sunday’s 1-0 home loss to Aston Villa, Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali was seen eluding irate supporters.
Todd Boehly and Eghbali, the club’s co-presidents, are alleged to have addressed the team in the players’ locker room following yet another subpar performance by the Blues, which resulted in their being jeered off the field by their own fans.
Following the game, a video of Eghbali with several Chelsea supporters seen chasing after him and demanding answers went popular on social media.
Eghbali was observed being assisted by a security officer as he jumped into the rear of a black sedan.
Look how fast he’s moving! Before the car door slammed shut, a Chelsea fan was heard shouting on camera.
Since Boehly and Eghbali succeeded Roman Abramovich, Chelsea’s fortunes have been on the decline, with a shockingly low 12th-place top-flight result last season despite the club’s enormous spending on players.
With only one victory in their first six Premier League games this season, things have not improved for the west Londoners, and the pressure is mounting.
In contrast, Gary Neville criticised the Chelsea management after Chelsea’s defeat against Villa at Stamford Bridge.
What is Chelsea up to? On his podcast, he said. “What is going on? I have a lot of faith in Mauricio Pochettino, but he has a lot of cards and is having trouble deciding which hand to play.
“What’s going on at Chelsea is a mystery.” Sometimes disorder simply spreads throughout a club. The way they do their company may change, in my opinion. In the way it’s being run, I don’t see this lasting. It’s insane.
