“I told Barcelona board to help me sign him before Baby Coach Pep Guardiola lays his hand on him, he does not know how to manage this kinds of talents and keep benching them”- Barcelona Manager Xavi Boss Xavi now want to sign £17m teenager who is aiming to play for Manchester City

Barcelona has expressed interest in signing Savio, a £17 million teenager who aims to play for Manchester City in the future, according to a report by SPORT in Spain.

The City Football Group secured the Brazilian’s services from Atlético Mineiro for £5.5 million in June 2022. Following this acquisition, Savio, also known as Savinho, was sent to Troyes as part of the City Football Group’s strategy to provide him with more playing time in European football.

In the 2022/23 season, he spent time on loan at PSV Eindhoven, where he faced challenges. However, this season, while on loan at Girona, another club within the City Football Group, Savio has excelled, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 11 appearances in La Liga.

His performance has contributed to Girona’s second-place position in the league.

Xavi, the manager of Barcelona, is reportedly eager to acquire a new left winger, with Savio being considered a potential option due to his strong start to the season. SPORT reports that Savio’s value has risen to £17 million (€20 million) based on his progress at Girona.

Savio understands the workings of the City Football Group, where success at clubs like Troyes, Girona, Palermo, Melbourne City, or others under the group’s umbrella can lead to a future at Manchester City. The 19-year-old has his sights set on Manchester City and is confident that maintaining his current level of performance will eventually earn him a place at the Etihad Stadium. Savio acknowledged the valuable experience gained during his time at PSV and expressed his belief that Manchester City will want him if he continues to excel in the City Football Group project.
