‘It’s His choice,You can force the Horse to the river but you can’t compel Him to drink it’: Manchester City star Phil Foden CONFIRMED his £55m man city Teammate have accept to join Real Madrid in January transfer despite trying so hard to convince him to stay at City
Steve Nicol believes Real Madrid should prioritize signing Erling Haaland over Kylian Mbappe. The pundit shared this opinion during an ESPN FC discussion about whether Real Madrid should pursue the Manchester City star instead of the World Cup-winning Mbappe.
Nicol contends that Haaland, praised as “incredible” by Pep Guardiola, is widely regarded as the world’s best striker. The Norwegian striker currently leads the Premier League in goals and achieved an impressive 52 goals in 53 matches last season, helping his team secure the treble.
Nicol expressed enthusiasm for the idea of seeing Jude Bellingham and Erling Haaland reunited in the same team. He also suggested that Vinicius Junior could return to the left wing in this scenario. Nicol seemed concerned that Mbappe might disrupt the team’s chemistry, describing him as having a “me, me, me” attitude. He stated that, as a Real Madrid fan, he would prefer to see Haaland as the center-forward with Vini on the left and Bellingham in the midfield, indicating he would have no objections to this arrangement.
However, the pundit also acknowledged that Haaland is unlikely to leave Manchester City, especially considering Real Madrid’s reported interest in Mbappe next summer. Haaland’s current contract with City runs until 2027, and with Pep Guardiola at the helm and the team’s strong performance, there may be little incentive for him to leave the Etihad Stadium for another European club, particularly if Guardiola extends his contract.
