I can feel his pain, he has not been himself since the Ballon d’Or 2023 result- Bernardo Silva claims Manchester City teammate is upset with 2023 Ballon d’Or result

Bernardo Silva has revealed that his Manchester City teammate, Ruben Dias, is disappointed with his 30th-place finish in the 2023 Ballon d’Or rankings. Silva made this comment during Manchester City’s behind-the-scenes video of the Ballon d’Or ceremony.

While on the bus with Dias and Ederson on their way to the ceremony in Paris, Silva humorously remarked, “I’m here with the 30th of the Ballon d’Or. Ruben Dias, my mate. I can feel his pain. I’m here sharing the pain with him.” In the Ballon d’Or vote, Silva ranked ninth, while Dias finished 30th.

Dias had an outstanding 2022/23 season with Manchester City, playing a pivotal role in their historic treble-winning campaign, making 43 appearances across all competitions. However, he was hampered by a hamstring injury in December, which may have affected his ranking.

Dias’ 30th-place finish in the Ballon d’Or rankings is seen by many as unjust, especially considering his exceptional defensive performances last season. Some questionable inclusions ahead of him, such as Kim-min Jae, Yassine Bounou, and Al Hilal, have raised eyebrows among fans and pundits.

Kim-min Jae, despite his talents, is seen as unlikely to have outperformed Dias significantly. Yassine Bounou and Al Hilal also raised questions due to their lower profiles compared to Dias.

If Ruben Dias is genuinely disheartened by his Ballon d’Or ranking, it may serve as motivation for him to have an even more remarkable season in 2023/24.
