The Real Madrid player poses a threat to Villarreal boss Marcelino, saying, “He’s extraordinary.”
Marcelino Garcia Toral’s return to Villarreal in November has seen the Yellow Submarine play exceptionally well. They had a very poor start to the season, losing coaches Quique Setien and Pacheta, but in the last several weeks, they have looked fantastic.
On Sunday, though, Marcelino will have to face his hardest test yet when Villarreal travels to the Spanish capital to play Real Madrid. During his pregame press conference (via MD), the 58-year-old spoke about Los Blancos and highlighted Jude Bellingham, who has been Carlo Ancelotti’s team’s star player this season.
“He is very remarkable. In all of Europe, he is the player who has delivered the best performance. We’ll make an effort to limit his involvement. He plays a large part in most of the pitch, particularly in the latter third, so it will be challenging.
“He is highly supported by players of the highest calibre, such as Rodrygo. In order to lessen their influence on the game, we will need to provide substantial collaborative assistance.
Bellingham will undoubtedly play a significant role for Real Madrid on Sunday, but Marcelino and Villarreal will be well aware that if they want to maintain their stellar recent performance, they will need to shut down all 11 players.
