Former Roma Boss Jose Mourinho is set to shock the football world by taking this job
He said that Jose Mourinho’s agent stated that the 60-year-old is ready to work for Al-Shabab, but there is one thing he needs to do first.
According to the Spanish news source AS, the Portuguese coach is talking with Al Shabab about a possible new job for the former Real Madrid manager. Saudi Arabia has been making offers to Mourinho for a while now.
According to the story, Mourinho turned down offers last summer because of “promises made to players.” However, he did say that he would be open to doing business in the Saudi Pro League in the future.
According to Daily Post, sports reporter Turki Alghamdi says that Jose Mourinho has decided to join Al-Shabab, but with one condition: the club must bring in “star names.”
The famous boss is also being sought after by people in other places. Napoli is said to want to hire the multiple-time winner, and Newcastle wants to replace Eddie Howe with him if they want to return to the Premier League.
Some European teams are already interested in Mourinho, according to ESPN. This means that he might decide not to move to Saudi Arabia after all.
But if he makes a deal with the Saudi club right away, his first game as boss of Al-Shabab could be a friendly in Riyadh against AS Roma.
This week, Mourinho was fired by Roma after having the worst win rate of his career. However, he still did what he does best, which is win trophies.
In his first season with the club, Mourinho led Roma to win in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League, ending a 14-year trophy drought.
The next year, Roma made it to the final of the Europa League, but Sevilla beat them in a spot shootout.
