David de Gea, who has been without a club since leaving Manchester United, has been spotted visiting second-tier Spanish club Eldense.
The custodian was not there to consider a surprise return home; instead, De Gea is reportedly considering becoming the club’s owner. Eldense, now ranked 11th in the Segunda División, has experienced a dramatic ascent in recent years.
President Pascual Pérez has witnessed the club’s progress but will shortly leave, emphasising his commitment to ensuring its future. In a statement, the statement said: “Pérez assures that, before leaving the presidency, he will do everything possible so that the replacement of the oldest club in the province of Alicante is in good hands for the proper functioning of the entity and the continuity of the ambitious project that he started three years ago. seasons in Tercera RFEF.”

Onda Cero reports that De Gea met with the club’s outgoing president to discuss the club’s current condition and future intentions. The 33-year-old still has plenty of playing time left in him, but he is willing to consider his alternatives after hanging up his gloves.
De Gea left Manchester United at the end of last season, despite having been offered a new deal. The Spaniard had spent more than a decade at Old Trafford, but his playing limitations prompted Erik ten Hag to seek fresh options, eventually signing Andre Onana.
There had been talk of De Gea making a stunning return to Manchester, especially as Onana was expected to be out for several weeks for the Africa Cup of Nations. In response to mounting conjecture, the custodian issued a cryptic comment on social media, which did little to dispel rumours.
