Transfer News

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has officially joined the Manchester United boardroom following the Premier League’s ratification of his minority acquisition and VERY SAD NEWS has been announced for Erig Ten Hag this Evening

Manchester United officially welcomed Sir Jim Ratcliffe to Old Trafford this week after the Premier League approved his takeover of the Reds.

On Christmas Eve, United announced that they had achieved an agreement with INEOS to join the board. In the statement, the Reds stated that Ratcliffe and his colleagues would acquire a 25% ownership in the club and would be in charge of football operations, with the Glazers taking a back seat.

The following January transfer window was quiet for United, as Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues hung over the club. As a result, Erik ten Hag made no additions to his squad this winter, instead focusing on the upcoming summer transfer market.

Ratcliffe will be unsurprised to learn that United require team additions in order to close the gap on Premier League championship contenders. Ten Hag, according to MEN Sport, wants to add at least a full-back, centre-back, midfielder, and striker to his squad.

Ratcliffe is thought to want to target players who will be entering the final year of their contracts this summer. Once a player reaches the last 12 months, their price begins to fall as their club attempts to salvage a new deal or sells them before they leave for free.

With this in mind, MEN Sport attempted to anticipate how the United lineup may look until the summer transfer window closes in September.
