Carragher Says This Chelsea Star Faces Career End Following Explosive Manchester City Showdown.
Jamie Carragher believes Thiago Silva’s days at Chelsea are numbered after being overshadowed by his younger teammates against Manchester City.
Silva went off hurt against Crystal Palace last Monday night, and while he was ruled out of the trip to City, he could be back in time for the Carabao Cup final.
However, some fans will be praying that the 39-year-old does not face Liverpool after the centre-back duo of Axel Disasi and Levi Colwill performed admirably at the Etihad.

Their tenacious defence helped the Blues grab a point against Pep Guardiola’s side, with Rodri scoring late after Raheem Sterling’s opening in the first half.
Carragher named Disasi player of the match and compared the 25-year-old to Chelsea icon John Terry, praising his performance in particular.
Silva is, of course, one of the best defenders of his generation, and he has been an excellent performer for the Blues since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in 2020, earning the club’s performer of the Year award last season.
However, he has not looked his best this season, and Mauricio Pochettino has continued to rely on him, with the Brazilian playing practically every minute of the Premier League campaign.

‘I believe it makes it extremely impossible for Thiago Silva to return to the club between now and the end of the season, unless someone is hurt.
‘Chelsea have the cup final, but I believe they need to start planning for the future. There isn’t much to play for after the Cup final.
‘I believe that with those two in a combination and perhaps another young centre-back in the squad, Thiago Silva’s days at Chelsea must come to an end.’
The Blues have numerous other young, potential centre-backs in their roster, including Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana, so they should be well covered if Silva left.
The veteran’s future has been the subject of much conjecture, particularly when his wife Belle attacked Pochettino on social media following the 4-2 loss to the Wolves, for which she later apologised.
