Manchester City Star Winger Phil Foden could leave Man City to join one of their biggest rivals in the summer
The person in charge of hiring, Juni Calafat, is reportedly driving Real Madrid’s pursuit of acquiring Phil Foden from Manchester City.
Defensa Central reports that Real Madrid might attempt to acquire England international Foden, 23, in the summer.
The young player from City has had a terrific season with the defending champions thus far. In a crucial matchup last weekend against fierce rivals Manchester United, he scored two goals.
Foden, a seasoned player for Man City, will only get better with direction and experience. The youthful player has already scored 11 goals and provided seven assists, matching his Premier League goal total from the previous campaign.
Although Real Madrid has expressed interest in the talented Man City player, they will have a difficult time convincing him to sign with them. Being one of the richest teams in the world, Man City has no need to offload one of its great players.
Under manager Pep Guardiola, Foden is having a great time in Manchester and is playing some of his greatest football.
Being versatile, Foden may operate as an attacking midfielder or winger. His versatility will be a bonus if the Spanish powerhouses can seal the deal. Real Madrid wants to add additional offensive options at the end of the season, and there are whispers that they are also considering Kylian Mbappe.
Real Madrid already has players like Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes at their disposal. They signed Jude Bellingham as well last summer. Putting together a great team of exceptional players seems to be their aim for the future.
It is quite unlikely right now that Foden will jump ship and join the Spanish giants to play with his fellow countryman Jude Bellingham, but in the history of football, weirder things have happened.
Real Madrid is renowned for pursuing the top players in the world, and past events have shown that it is quite challenging to turn down such a prominent team.
