Chelsea are expected to face a profit and sustainability charge from the Premier League, from breaches committed under the ownership of Roman Abramovich
The Premier League is poised to impose a profit and sustainability levy on Chelsea due to violations that occurred while Roman Abramovich was the owner.
Chelsea is awaiting charges for their actions under former owner Roman Abramovich, according to Football Insider, and the punishments are anticipated “sooner rather than later.”
UEFA penalised Chelsea £8.6 million last summer for past transgressions committed during the Abramovich administration. Had Chelsea not disclosed those violations on their own, the penalties might have been far more severe.
Chelsea is hoping that since the new owners are working with the Premier League, the punishment would be lessened.
However, Chelsea’s new owners are adamant that they haven’t violated any spending regulations during the ownership switch.
