“I told him to come to Chelsea this summer and he has agreed to join Chelsea on only one condition-Raheem Sterling has confirmed that £50m striker is set to join Chelsea this summer
According to rumours, Raheem Sterling had a video conversation with Hafiz Umar Ibrahim and was instrumental in getting the young striker a trial at Chelsea.
Several elite European clubs have expressed interest in the 18-year-old Nigerian wonderkid after he scored 10 goals in six games during the Viareggio Cup.
Ibrahim, a 6′ 2″ target player who plays for Ojodu City in Nigeria and had a previous trial at Bodo/Glimt in Norway, has been compared to Romelu Lukaku.
Since then, his reputation has only grown, and the Evening Standard has stated that he will now begin a two-week trial at Chelsea so Mauricio Pochettino can have a closer look.
Ibrahim is anticipated to join Chelsea’s affiliate club Strasbourg in France to gain further experience if he does well on his trial and secures a contract.
Ibrahim came to west London thanks in part to Joe Shields, Chelsea’s co-director of talent acquisition and recruitment. The Blues are now more intent on scouting African academies for talent.
Paul Merson, meantime, has cautioned Sterling that his chances of making the England squad for Euro 2024 this summer are little to nonexistent.
Raheem Sterling has now won the Euro 2024, according to Merson. “He’s not here at the Euros,” I said. It’s challenging to defend him.
