Chelsea manager Mouricio Pochettino broke down in tears as Star player who returned back from injury has been ruled for the rest of the season due to Hamstring injury obtained in training
Romeo Lavia expressed his “frustration” after suffering an injury that ended his Chelsea debut season.
The 20-year-old, who signed for £53 million in the summer, only played for 32 minutes before being sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a thigh injury.
Wednesday saw Chelsea confirm the diagnosis; shortly after, Lavia posted a statement on social media.
He wrote, “As you may know, I will not be able to complete the season despite my tremendous efforts.”
I’ve found this season to be disappointing because I can’t support my teammates.
“Being on the pitch, this squad, and this badge are everything to me.” Have faith that I’ve tried my hardest every day to return.
“I appreciate your love, encouragement, and criticism since they all help me stay motivated and have a beneficial impact on me. I’m eager to return it and have many more memorable times with you. I’ll see you shortly.
After joining from Southampton last summer, Lavia struggled with lack of match fitness until suffering an ankle injury.
After making his comeback against Crystal Palace in late December, he played for just thirty minutes before suffering a thigh ailment, adding his name to the long list of players out injured that Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino will be dealing with this season.
