BREAKING NEWS VIDEO | ROBBERY OF THE YEAR. Clear Penalty For Liverpool after a rough tackle, and the Referee Says No! 😱😱 Liverpool fans have had enough, they can’t believe Nunez wasn’t given a penalty after being ‘manhandled’ by Estupinan… 😬 What is Football turning into πŸ˜₯πŸ’”, VAR is making Football Boring and less attractive 😱😱

Liverpool supporters vented their discontent online following the dismissal of Darwin Nunez’s penalty appeal during Liverpool’s clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The game presented Liverpool with an opportunity to ascend to the summit of the Premier League standings before Arsenal took on Manchester City. With just one point dividing the top three teams in the league, the title race for this season promises to be fiercely contested.

After Danny Welbeck put Brighton ahead, Nunez went down in the penalty area, appealing for a spot-kick as Liverpool aimed to restore parity. Despite a slight tug from Brighton’s Pervis Estupinan, referee David Coote stood firm.

Social media platforms buzzed with fans airing their grievances, highlighting the perceived inconsistency in refereeing decisions. Some pointed out previous occasions where similar incidents resulted in penalties against Liverpool.

Leon Osman, a former Everton player providing analysis for BBC Radio 5 Live, observed that while there might not have been sufficient contact for a penalty, Estupinan seemed flustered.

Liverpool eventually drew level in the 27th minute when Luis Diaz deftly flicked in Mohamed Salah’s header, bringing the scores level after falling behind.
