The five yellow cards Fernandes got this season got him suspended once. This meant he missed December 17’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool. Now, if he gets a yellow card against Chelsea on Thursday and Liverpool on Sunday, he might not be able to play against Bournemouth or Sheffield United in the league.
After the Liverpool game, he won’t have to worry about getting his 10th yellow card until the Bournemouth game. Fernandes has only been booked once in the last nine Premier League games.

Fernandes is one of many players in the league who are almost banned. But Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United and Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea are even more likely to be banned. Both of them have nine yellow cards. Chelsea still has four games to play before the cut-off point of 32 games played so far this season.
