Former Bayern Munich Legend and Star Arjen Robben will start training with Manchester City this week ahead of stunning football return!
Arjen Robben was seen in the Manchester City changing room giving the squad a word of support after their 5-1 victory over Wolves.
City pulled one point behind Premier League leaders Arsenal thanks to strikes from Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez. Their dreams of winning a fourth straight championship are still alive after this, their sixth straight top-flight victory during which they have scored an astounding 24 goals.
The Daily Mail reports that a number of football greats attended the game. Among them was David Silva, the City icon making his first visit back to the Etihad since departing in July 2020.
Renowned for telling amusing stories about Guardiola’s propensity to phone him at odd hours to talk about business, Robben praised City for their win against Wolves and urged them to continue to put pressure on Arsenal. Over his career, Robben has played for Bayern as well as Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSV, and Groningen.
Dutch football great Arjen Robben wasn’t simply seen at the Etihad during his visit to the UK this past weekend. Pictures of the former winger at Anfield, where he saw Liverpool beat Tottenham 4-2, were all over social media. He was there with former colleague Thiago Alcantara.
Three victories out of three will guarantee Manchester City the Premier League trophy as they pursue a fourth straight championship. As he considered the win over Wolves and the title challenge ahead, Pep Guardiola said, “The biggest importance is only two weeks remaining. Three matches. We’ll be champs with nine points.
“Arsenal will win the Premier League if we only score seven, six, three points. We can’t draw; goal difference is impossible. Arsenal has played such excellent, steady football lately.
“There are three games, and ideally we take control of our Premier League fate by winning the first and second and arriving to the third. You can see the 5-1 [today] outcome, but I don’t think that was a really strong performance.
We misplaced a lot of basic balls. We may go with Phil [Foden], Kevin [De Bruyne], Julian [Alvarez] against teams that push hard. For their patterns, I give Wolves a lot of credit. Always hazardous were Hwang [Hee-chan] and [Matheus] Cunha.”
