Virgil Van Dijk has LEFT Liverpool to join one of the biggest clubs in world football! End of an era 😢

Virgil van Dijk’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain, despite recent denials of any potential move to Saudi Arabia.

The Athletic’s Transfer DealSheet reports that there has been no contact between Saudi Pro League team Al Nassr and Liverpool regarding van Dijk.

Journalists, citing anonymous senior Liverpool sources, confirmed that Al Nassr has not approached Liverpool about the Dutch defender.

Van Dijk, who has one year remaining on his contract, continues to be a crucial player for the incoming head coach Arne Slot. However, if a new contract isn’t agreed upon, van Dijk could become a free agent next summer.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is reportedly interested in Lille defender Leny Yoro.

Alongside van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah also have contracts expiring in the summer of 2025.

Losing van Dijk in 2025 would be a significant blow for Liverpool. Despite previous concerns about Salah’s long-term fitness following a serious injury, there is no question that van Dijk should be a priority for Liverpool’s future plans.

At 32, soon to be 33 in July, van Dijk remains in top physical condition, and his defensive prowess is undiminished. Since recovering from a severe injury caused by Everton’s Jordan Pickford, van Dijk has arguably been performing at his peak.

Liverpool must make every effort to retain van Dijk at Anfield beyond his 2025 contract expiration. There can be no excuses.
