Chelsea has made €50million bid for La Liga Star who scored more goals than Vinicuis Jr last season

Chelsea allegedly made three bids for Atletico Madrid’s outstanding teenage striker Samu Omorodion this summer, including one for €50 million.

However, despite these bids, the Blues appear to be struggling to persuade Atletico to sell the 20-year-old, according to Spanish publication Relevo.

Omorodion might be an attractive alternative for Chelsea, but Madrid has rejected all of the west Londoners’ proposals thus far, so they may have to examine other choices unless they are willing to pay exorbitant fees for the Spain Under-21 international.

It’s hardly unexpected that Atletico want to keep Omorodion, who seems like a great future possibility after excelling on loan at Deportivo Alaves last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s Daily Briefing, Chelsea have still to select between Omorodion and Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran.

Omorodion transfer: A big deal for Chelsea?
Given that CFC appears to have no prospect of convincing Atletico to split ways with Omorodion, would it make sense for them to shift their emphasis back to Duran at this time?
As Romano pointed out in yesterday’s post, Duran also has Premier League experience, whilst Omorodion would be leaving Spain for the first time in his career.

“Chelsea have two alternatives: with Jhon Duran, they already have the player’s approval; Duran wants to join Chelsea and has said yes, but he also has other options,” Romano stated.

“With Omorodion, he’s still extremely pleased in Madrid and has no desire to go; he wants to wear the club’s shirt after they trusted him a year ago when he wasn’t well-known. So Chelsea is attempting to reach an agreement with the player before trying again with Atletico Madrid.”

He went on to say, “My understanding is that there is no choice yet between these two strikers – they are working on both agreements and waiting for a decision; and it is still an open scenario as of today, so no preference yet.

“Discussions are ongoing between the club and the players. Duran has the advantage of being more accustomed to Premier League football, but Omorodion’s potential is also excellent, so it’s difficult to make a decision. Premier League experience undoubtedly helps Duran, but let’s see what happens.”
