Manchester United is reportedly close to securing a deal for Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna. The club is eager to sign the Dutch striker, who is expected to leave the Italian team during the summer transfer window.

Florian Plettenberg revealed that Manchester United is trying to outbid AC Milan for Zirkzee. Football Insider reports that the English club is nearing an agreement with Bologna and is currently negotiating terms.

The report suggests that Manchester United may activate Zirkzee’s £33.8 million release clause to complete the transfer. Corriere dello Sport states that AC Milan has already offered Zirkzee a five-year contract worth four million euros annually but is hesitant to pay the agent fee of 15 million euros demanded by Kia Joorabchian, despite their willingness to meet the release clause.

CorSport also notes that Manchester United has already engaged with Zirkzee’s agent to understand the financial details required for the deal. Zirkzee, a versatile player, primarily plays as a center forward but can also operate on the wings or as a second striker. The Star suggests that Zirkzee’s move to Old Trafford could potentially lead to Marcus Rashford leaving the club.
