France Captain and Real Madrid player Kylian Mbappe won’t be allowed to wear his new mask for France at Euro 2024

Although he is not permitted to wear it during games, Kylian Mbappe has been spotted in training for France at Euro 2024 with a new mask.

During Monday’s 1-0 victory over Austria, the captain of France clashed with rival defender Kevin Danso, breaking his nose.

There were doubts regarding Mbappe’s availability for the rest of the group stages after he was unable to finish the contest.

During training on Thursday, Mbappe was seen sporting a mask that displayed the French flag’s red, white, and blue colors.

According to The Athletic, UEFA has rules regarding masks; hence, wearing Mbappe’s specific mask is prohibited.

Medical equipment “must be a single color and devoid of team and manufacturer branding,” according to the law.

The complete text of the statute is as follows: “Medical equipment (such as face masks, knee braces, casts, elbow pads, or head protection): Wearing medical equipment on the playing field requires it to be unbranded and have only one color, without any team or manufacturer markings.

The color of items worn on the arms and legs should match that of the matching piece of playing gear (e.g., kneepads should match the color of shorts, and elbow pads or tape used on the arm should match the color of shirt sleeves).
