Chelsea to loan out six and sell 10 this summer as Boehly bins £210m worth of *talent*
Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja, Mykhaylo Mudryk, Conor Gallagher, and Raheem Sterling are Chelsea players.
We are going over the whole Chelsea team and letting you know who should be kept, who should be sold, and who should be loaned out, so cancel your plans for the remainder of the day.
Our counterparts at Arsenal and Manchester United don’t have nearly as many Football Manager wonderkids in their squads, so we didn’t bother performing the loan thing for them. But obviously, read those after reading this.
Sell, Robert Sanchez
Though this may cause some debate, he is mediocre at everything and makes mistakes in every game. Robert Sanchez’s sale makes sense because Chelsea has an abundance of goalkeepers.
Djordje Petrovic: Hold on to
I was more pleased with Djordje Petrovic last season than with Sanchez. And that’s it.
Marcus Bettinelli: We don’t mind that Bettinelli is there to make up the numbers.
Loan: Lucas Bergstrom
It’s very obvious that Bergstrom will never be the starting quarterback for Chelsea. Sell him immediately, or attempt to increase his worth by loaning him.
Sell is Gabriel Slonina’s
After signing Slonina in 2022 from MLS team Chicago Fire, Chelsea loaned him to Eupen, a Belgian team, in August of last year. This has been a completely useless signing because their other goalie, Petrovic, an ex-MLS player, is far superior.
Sell Kepa Arrizabalaga
Indeed, a sixth goalie. While Kepa is still the most expensive goalie in history, he has never proven himself on the field. After his loan at Real Madrid in 2023–2024, it’s time to sever all links going forward.
Keep, Reece James
Despite his propensity for injuries, Reece James is still Chelsea’s captain, and the team should retain some homegrown players rather than offloading them all.
James is among the top right-backs in the world when he plays at his peak, but he is constantly suffering from injuries, so we never get to witness him play at his best. Hopefully, he can restart his career in the upcoming season.
Malo Gusto: Since joining Chelsea in January of last year, Malo Gusto has played a ton of football, so at least one player has profited from James’ injury struggles.
The Frenchman had a shaky debut, but he has since showed a lot of promise.
Malang Sarr – Purchase
Somehow, Chelsea has a contract with this guy till 2025. It’s time to call it quits for good.
Since arriving from Monaco, Benoit Badiashile has been blowing hot and cold. We see no need to sell him since we admire his potential.
Axel Disasi: Hold on
Sincerely, Disasi is comparable in every way. Determining which former Monaco player has more promise is challenging since our perception shifts almost daily as we observe them.
Keep by Levi Colwill
Maintaining Levi Colwill at the club makes perfect sense. Bayern Munich is apparently interested in signing him, and he would represent an incredible amount of sheer profit, but Chelsea would be shooting themselves in the foot if they let go of the guy they worked so hard to successfully sign to a new deal last summer.
Sell Trevoh Chalobah
Unfortunately, Colwill is far superior then Trevoh “pure profit” Chalobah, and the club already has a large number of center backs, with Tosin Adarabioyo on the horizon. As a result, selling Trevoh is an easy decision. He is a very talented player who will contribute well wherever he goes.
Loan by Alfie Gilchrist
Though he shouldn’t be playing consistently at his age, little Alfie Gilchrist did play a little last season. Everyone concerned should gain from a Championship loan. According to reports, Leeds United is considering the option.
Wesley Fofana – Continue
Wesley Fofana, who needs to recover from yet another terrible injury, is going to have a tremendous season. We believe he can play in Chelsea’s starting lineup and that he has enormous potential.
Ben Chilwell: Don’t Tell Me. There would be no one who would blame Chelsea for wanting to sell Ben Chilwell. It is unlikely that Chelsea will make much progress in improving Chilwell’s position given the sale of Ian Maatsen and the club’s acquisition of left-backs for £100 million.
Keep by Marc Cucurella
Marc Cucurella, who accounts for the majority of that £100 million, had a strong 23/24 season under Mauricio Pochettino and was among those most shocked by his dismissal after he demonstrated a lack of football skills the previous season.
