Former Manchester United Star Player Paul Scholes will start training with former team this week ahead of stunning football return!

Former Manchester United player Paul Scholes will make his way back to Old Trafford in September for the team’s Legends matchup with Celtic.

Along with old teammate Nicky Butt, the former England international was one of the first two names released in Bryan Robson’s Man United roster for the Manchester United Foundation match.

Scholes and Butt were part of the United ’99 Legends squad that played against Bayern Munich’s Legends team back in 2019 to honor the 20th anniversary of their treble-winning Champions League final victory over the Bundesliga team in 1999 and to raise money for the Manchester United Foundation.

Butt gave United their third goal of the match as they smashed 5-0; David Beckham, Louis Saha, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Dwight Yorke scored the other goals during Sir Alex Ferguson’s most recent spell on the Old Trafford bench.

In the days leading up to the Red Devils XI’s Saturday, September 7 encounter at Old Trafford against Paul Lambert’s Celtic XI, more names will become known.

The two teams have been close for a long time, despite the fact that they have only played each other four times in competitive play—two of those encounters occurring in the Champions League, with United winning two and Celtic winning one. In 2008, their most recent encounter resulted in a 1-1 tie.

Still, a lot of the big names from both sides, including Robson and Ryan Giggs who weren’t even in the club, and Roy Keane and Bryan McClair, picked them for their testimonial matches.

Declaring: “We’re incredibly excited for this newest confrontation and are hoping to see the United and Celtic supporters out in force,” Robson, who will have United treble winner Andy Cole as his assistant, stated his enthusiasm for the next game ahead of it in a few months. They’re going to have a great time at Old Trafford and supporting the Foundation and all of its amazing efforts.

“Every time I’ve had the good fortune to take part in these competitions, I’ve always had a competitive advantage. There have been some incredible games throughout the years, and even though some of the players have retired, they all still have the will to win. I’m really happy to be in charge of the group once more.”
