Manchester United are planning to bolster several key positions before the next season begins.

Erik ten Hag’s team needs significant reinforcements to improve upon last season’s disappointing performance, where they finished eighth in the Premier League.

The primary issue for United seemed to be a lack of goals, and Ten Hag is keen on bringing in a new striker to address this.

Several forwards have been linked with a move to Old Trafford. Here are the latest transfer rumors involving the Red Devils from the past 24 hours:

### United Consider Lukaku Return

Reports suggest Manchester United are considering re-signing former striker Romelu Lukaku if they can’t secure a deal for Joshua Zirkzee. Zirkzee is their top target for a new striker, but competition from Arsenal and AC Milan makes the deal challenging.

If United can’t sign Zirkzee, they may turn to Lukaku. According to CalcioMercato, Lukaku, who recently finished a loan stint with Roma but remains under contract with Chelsea, is a potential option. Lukaku scored 42 goals in 96 appearances during his previous spell at Old Trafford.

### Crespo Advises Milan on Zirkzee

AC Milan is also interested in both Zirkzee and Lukaku. Interestingly, Hernan Crespo has urged Milan to focus on signing Lukaku, potentially leaving an opening for United to sign Zirkzee.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Crespo said, “Zirkzee had a great season with Bologna, scoring 11 goals. Lukaku wasn’t at his best last season, but with the right motivation and physical preparation, he can deliver. Zirkzee is young and might struggle with the pressure at San Siro. Lukaku is accustomed to big stages, making him a better fit for Milan right now.”

### United Strike Β£34m Deal

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to a Β£34 million deal for Real Madrid defender Miguel Gutierrez. According to Spanish reports via Express, the Red Devils have secured the left-back, but the move will be formalized later.

Gutierrez is currently with Girona, where he played a key role in helping them qualify for the Champions League last season. Real Madrid retains a Β£6.7 million buy-back clause and plans to activate it before selling Gutierrez to United.
